Meet the Senior Leadership Team:
Chief Executive Officer
As CEO of MAXIS GBN, Mattieu Rouot oversees relationships with more than 500 multinational companies in over 120 countries around the world. He joined MAXIS in May 2020. Before then, Mattieu was instrumental in the creation of the MAXIS GBN joint venture in 2016 and served on the MAXIS supervisory board from its inception. Mattieu has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, working in a number of senior positions for the AXA Group and BNP Paribas.
Head of Business Development
As Head of Business Development, Ricardo Almeida is responsible for the development, enhancement and execution of MAXIS GBN strategy globally. His team works with our strategic partners to develop employee benefit solutions for multinational clients across the globe.
Ricardo has worked in the employee benefits industry since 1999. He has been with MAXIS GBN since 2016 as its Americas distribution leader, where he was responsible for the development, enhancement and execution of MAXIS GBN’s strategy for the Americas.
Ricardo holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lander University and an international MBA from the University of South Carolina.
Head of Technical and Services
Matthias Helmbold leads the technical and services division which includes reinsurance, underwriting and client reporting functions. Matthias has more than 15+ years of experience in employee benefits. Prior to his role with MAXIS GBN, he held both consulting as well as corporate roles, his most recent position being Director International Benefits with The Coca-Cola Company. Matthias studied at Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA; he holds a PhD degree in Mathematics and is a qualified actuary with the German Actuary Association (DAV).
Global Director, Marketing & Digital
Patsy leads MAXIS GBN’s Marketing & Digital functions with a team based in London, Paris and New York. The team works with the wider business to further develop the network’s profile, augment the member and client experience and help drive new business globally. Prior to joining MAXIS, Patsy held senior marketing positions in the asset management industry for BMO Global Asset Management, M&G Investments and HSBC Global Asset Management. She has worked in both London and Hong Kong. Patsy holds a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages and European Studies from Southampton University; and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (FE) from the University of Wales in Cardiff.
Head of Finance and Operations
Jérôme Picon heads up Finance & Operations at MAXIS, including IT & Facilities, Legal & Compliance, Finance and Membership Management functions. Jérôme joined MAXIS GBN from AXA Bank Europe, where he was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Board Member for its Hungarian Branch since August 2013, and where he led, among others, the Finance, Compliance, Corporate legal and Risk Management teams during the restructuring of the Branch. Jérôme’s previous roles include working at AXA Group in Paris and BNP Paribas in London. Jérôme has a postgraduate degree in Financial Engineering from the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, and completed professional Leadership training in Ashridge and Insead Business Schools.
Dr. Leena Johns, MD
Head of Health & Wellness
Dr. Leena Johns joined MAXIS in 2014 and heads the Health & Wellness team. She works with multinational clients and MAXIS network members on claims data analytics and global wellness solutions. The team identifies cost drivers and metrics that affect healthcare utilisation and recommends solutions via changes to policy terms and conditions and wellness activities. She is responsible for developing and promoting MAXIS Global Wellness solution – a curated marketplace of wellness solutions that can be deployed globally. In addition, Dr. Leena authors whitepapers on health and wellness issues.
Dr. Leena spent her earlier career as an ER physician working in the Middle East, Asia and the U.S. and has extensive experience working with global medical claims data.
