MAXIS GBN

Huge congratulations to MetLife UK, AXA Hong Kong, MetLife Japan and AXA Switzerland

Our local members are at the very heart of what we do and it’s important that we take the time to recognise their success and commitment to the MAXIS network with our Member Awards.

Our 2019 awards took place in sunny Portugal at the MAXIS Global Forum, where over 60 of our network partners joined us for a three-day conference looking at how, together, we can shape the future of our industry. With four awards up for grabs on the night, it was a hard-fought competition between our 140+ local member insurers.

Most innovative member award

With technology really shaping the future of the employee benefits (EB) industry, our members can truly differentiate themselves from their competition with innovative digital solutions for multinational clients at the local level. Ten local members were nominated by our MAXIS staff for the award of “Most innovative member”, giving our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) a difficult decision to make.

We decided to give two honourable mentions as well as the main award, due to the excellence demonstrated in this area across the network. One of the mentions went to AXA Gulf who were highlighted for their impressive focus on innovative wellness solutions. The second honourable mention was for Achmea, our partner in The Netherlands, due to their continuous drive for progress in the industry.

But, now onto the winner! AXA Hong Kong took the prize for their remarkable efforts to innovate to meet the needs of local clients and their employees. Of particular note were their noteworthy robotic quotation generation system, enhanced claims processing and their market leading health apps alongside a chat bot called “ask Emma” – all of these fantastic new ideas made them this year. Dr Yi Mien Koh and Emily Li represented AXA Hong Kong at the event and were delighted to receive the award.

Dr Koh added to our LinkedIn impressions the very next morning with her own post celebrating the win. We were more than happy to ‘share’ it.

Most engaged member award

As you know, our members are what make our network great and therefore the work we do together is vital. We wanted to use this award to recognise members who are truly and consistently engaged, not just in technical activities, but also through their collaboration with our Business Development and Member Management teams which helps our network to grow. The award was again nominated by the MAXIS team and chosen by the SLT.

For this award we had one honourable mention which went to AXA Green Crescent based in the UAE. The MAXIS team highlighted their proactive approach, together with their diligent work with our Underwriting team and their clear market strategy.

Our winner, MetLife UK, exceeded our expectations, implementing a strategy to support MAXIS through monthly sales calls, bi-monthly technical calls and by working with our Business Development team to create some fantastic global opportunities.

On top of this, 2019 has been a very successful year for MetLife UK with their MAXIS portfolio increasing dramatically, demonstrating that by working well together we can all thrive and turn engagement into outcomes. We were delighted to present Adrian Matthews and Mark Baldwin with the award on behalf of the whole MetLife UK team.

Adrian Matthews said “[winning the award] is a real testament to the hard work that goes on in the office in Brighton, with a particular shout out to Nick Pemberton who does a lot of the hard work with the MAXIS team.”

BRIDGE champion

With a growing demand for timely and accurate data from our multinational clients it is crucial for us to work with our members and ensure we are delivering the best data possible.

We use our BRIDGE system to share data between our members and MAXIS and generate our client reports, so it is important to recognise the members who most effectively use the tool to deliver the best data to our shared clients. We had two honourable mentions which went to MetLife Bulgaria and Tokio Marine Thailand.

However, our winner this year is MetLife Japan, who unfortunately were unable to join us on the night. The award was gratefully accepted on their behalf by James Reid, Executive Vice President, Global Employee Benefits, MetLife. The team at MetLife Japan proved that they deserved the award through their responsiveness to our Technical team and the consistently high quality of the data they provide.

James Reid said, “Congratulations to the team at MetLife Japan for winning the ‘BRIDGE Champion’ award, your collaboration and co-operation with MAXIS on behalf of our joint customers is fantastic and we look forward to continuing working with you”.

Best member video

After receiving 23 videos from our members across the world, the attendees of the MAXIS Global Forum had to choose from a fantastic selection. We were blown away by the creativity, acting ability, drone work, editing and production that our members are able to exhibit, while still delivering great service to our shared clients!

Our winners, AXA Switzerland, entertained the room with a very funny depiction of their country and our Northern European sales team while giving us plenty of information about their team and culture along the way. They picked up more than 50% of the votes on the day, so were extremely deserving winners.
